What is the Contents Partner Program?

The Contents Partner Program gives restoration contractors one contents partner for the whole lifecycle: pack-out, cleaning, storage, and pack-back. One call gets a trained team dispatched within the hour. We document everything, carry the cost until insurance pays, and never balance bill, so nothing blows back on you.

What Contents Does to a Mid-Size Restoration Company

You run an emergency-driven shop doing $1M to $5M a year. When a big water or fire loss comes in, the contents are in the way and the clock is already running. The rebuild cannot start until the belongings are out.

So you improvise. You pull mitigation techs off their real work to pack boxes, and trained dryers become untrained movers. Furniture gets broken. Documentation gets thin. Or you wait on a contents vendor who may or may not show while the emergency clock keeps working against you.

And contents is the most personal piece of the whole job, someone's entire life in boxes. It is the part most likely to go sideways, and when it does, it is your name on the loss, not the vendor's. You are too big to ignore contents and too small to justify roughly $300K of in-house vaults, trucks, and crew. That is the squeeze this program was built for.

The Three Problems We Take Off Your Plate

Every contents headache a restoration owner deals with comes down to three problems. The program is built to remove all three:

  • In the way with the clock running. One call, dispatched within the hour. A trained contents team gets the belongings out so mitigation and rebuild start on time, and your techs stay on the work they are trained for.
  • Overhead and cash risk. Stay asset-light. No vaults, box trucks, or storage building to own, and no fronting months of cleaning and storage. We carry the cost until insurance pays. The math is on the How We Carry the Cost page.
  • Reputation risk. Every item is documented, problems get fixed instead of fought over, and we never balance bill your client. Nothing blows back on you. The guarantee is written down in the Reputation Shield.

Solve those three and contents stops being the riskiest line on your job. It becomes the part of the loss you simply never think about again.

How the Partnership Works, Step by Step

One partner, one accountability chain, from the first call to the last box. Here is the full cycle on a typical loss:

  • Dispatch. One call, dispatched within the hour on emergencies. 24/7 emergency dispatch covers nights and weekends.
  • Assess. On-site inventory and damage assessment. Every item logged and photographed, damaged versus salvageable, before the first box moves.
  • Pack-out. Trained packers handle the pack-out carefully and fast, so your mitigation techs never break another dresser.
  • Clean. Salvageable contents go through cleaning and restoration to bring them back to pre-loss condition.
  • Store. Belongings sit in secure storage for as long as the rebuild takes.
  • Carry the cost. You front nothing. We carry the cost until insurance pays.
  • Pack-back. We place everything back into the finished home with pack-back, and the job closes clean.

Full-cycle means no handoffs between vendors and no gaps for problems to hide in. If anything on that list goes wrong, it is ours to fix.

What It Is Like to Work With Us

One point of contact. You or your project manager talks to one person at Better Box who knows your account, your open jobs, and how you like your updates. No call trees, and no re-explaining the loss to a new voice every week.

Operator to operator. We are a contents operation, not a marketing company. You get straight answers on timing, scope, and cost. If something slips, you hear it from us first, with the fix already moving.

Documented by default. You receive the inventory and photo record on every job, so you can answer your client and the adjuster without chasing anyone.

And we are built for volume. Better Box handles 70 to 100 losses a month across four metros: Tucson, our HQ, plus Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Dallas/Arlington. From emergency water to large fire loss, there is a crew for it.

[CLIENT INPUT REQUIRED: 3 to 5 contractor-voice testimonials with restoration company name, owner or ops name, city, and a specific result.]

How to Get In: Start With Overflow and Emergencies

You probably already have a contents guy. Keep him. We are not asking you to rip out a working relationship on the strength of a web page.

Here is the ask instead. The next time a large loss hits and your incumbent cannot get there within the hour, or you have three jobs running and contents coverage for two, send us that one. Overflow and emergency jobs are where partners get proven, because they are exactly where incumbents fail.

One job. You watch the response time, the documentation, the pack-out, and how the homeowner talks about it afterward. If we are not better where it counts, you have lost nothing. If we are, the Reputation Shield is waiting in writing for the rest of your work.

Questions owners ask about this

How does billing work? +

Jobs are quoted per loss, and the contents portion is billed through the insurance claim, backed by our item-by-item documentation. You front nothing while the claim moves, and your client never receives a balance bill from us. If insurance leaves a gap on work we are responsible for, we absorb it ourselves.

What does "we carry the cost" actually mean? +

It means Better Box pays for the contents work while the claim is open. Pack-out, cleaning, and months of storage on a large loss all run at our expense until insurance pays. You take no cash hit and carry no contents receivable, so your working capital stays in your rebuild.

How do I get in on overflow and emergency jobs? +

Become a partner before you need us. We set up your account, contacts, and metros in advance, so when a loss hits it is one call, dispatched within the hour. Most new partners start us on exactly these jobs, the emergency or overflow loss an incumbent cannot cover fast enough. Win or lose, you find out what we are on a job that was stuck anyway.

What happens to my current contents vendor relationship? +

Nothing, unless you decide otherwise. Plenty of partners start by using us only for overflow and emergencies while keeping their incumbent on regular work. We win jobs on service, not on pressure. If we earn more of your work over time, that is your call to make, at your pace.

What documentation do I receive? +

A full inventory of every item we handle, with photos, condition notes, and damaged versus salvageable set on site. You get the records for your file and for the claim, so you can answer your client and the adjuster without waiting on us. Clean documentation is also how balance-billing disputes get prevented before they start.
